Parent Education in Technology and Netsmartz webpages include vital information on internet safety, teen internet habits, monitoring and responsible behavior and thousands of things a parent of a connected child should know.
Set “At Home” Boundaries and creating healthy media habits: Although the computer is an educational tool, parents should still feel free to regulate and monitor its use in the home. Right now, students will have access to the computer 24/7, but that doesn’t mean they need to stay up with it all night. Set rules and boundaries regarding computer usage at home. Monitor and be aware of what your child is doing with technology. There are many resources from Common Sense Media that will assist in creating healthy media habits. If at any time you have concerns, feel free to contact Deb in the Technology Department: [email protected] or at 319-283-2731 ext: 1289
